Passing of a Legend (2/28/08)
Gary Gygax died today at age
69. Despite what I thought of the majority of his game design philosophy, I can't deny that he was one of the
founding fathers of modern gaming. The internet is rife with "critical fumble" and "failed his saving
throw" jokes, but I'd like to point out that with his high amount of INT and GP, he would have definitely made
himself a necrotic phylactery by now. Somewhere Gygax walks amongst us, undead, eternal, a gaming
god.
